"Running In Place" began as a slow tempo piano piece. When Melissa added lyrics inspired by the deportation crisis we picked up the tempo to convey "running into uncertainty." Everyone contributed as the song evolved into this final version featuring Mark on drums and percussion, as well as lap steel.
